ASL Class @ Sunset Library
Pathways to Potential, throughout the month of April, is hosting ASL Classes at Sunset Library, where we teach students of all ages, basics of ASL to communicate with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. These one-hour classes have had profound impacts on others - one couple of parents was able to communicate with their Deaf son for the first time after this class. This also allows educators to provide an alternate form of instruction, helping their Deaf and hard-of-hearing students feel included in the classroom.
Booth @ AZ Vision Walk
Pathways to Potential was the only student-led booth at the Arizona Vision Walk, a fundraiser aimed to raise money for cures for blindness. We provided Visually Accessible STEM Kits and ran interactive experiments like Oobleck as well as interacted with a variety of blind and visually-impaired parents and students, learning about their ideals when considering education. We were so fortunate to contribute to this wonderful fundraiser as well as gain essential perspectives.
South x Southwest Education
On March 11, Shireen Arora, one of 6 finalists for the international Student Impact Challenge presented by South x Southwest Education, conducted a 10 minute presentation on Pathways to Potential with time for questions from the audience. She provided a summary of P2P's services and the urgency of the issue, networking with prominent educators and leaders driving change. She won 3rd place and was the first project from Arizona to win this prestigious award in an international setting!
Child Crisis AZ Demonstrations
On February 17 and February 26, Shireen Arora conducted Visually Accessible Experiments at Child Crisis AZ. There, she engaged one student who had a speech impediment and sparked his interest in STEM through experiments of blowing balloons with chemical reactions and more! We also donated Visually Accessible STEM Kits to promote independent learning and exploration at home as well.
Foster Festival AZ Booth
As the only student-led booth, Pathways to Potential hosted a STEM and accessibility booth at the Arizona foster festival, with over 1000 student attendees. Here, we hosted 3 experiments that were visually and auditory accessible, as well as taught students basic American Sign Language and empathy. This fosters a more inclusive environment where all students feel like they belong in STEM. We donated over 500 STEM Kits and had a great time!
STEM Kit Assembly Event
On February 8, 2026, Pathways to Potential hosted a STEM Kit Assembly event, in which over 30 students came together to create Visually Accessible STEM Kits. We also learned and exchanged ideas on what accessibility means and how we can implement it in our daily lives, inspiring youth to create a greater impact on their community. In this 2 hour event, we assembled over 400 STEM Kits with instructions in Braille and auditory guides!
Dance Fundraiser
On January 25, 2026, Shireen Arora hosted a dance performance for Indian classical dance, or Kathak. She performed for over 3 hours in front of an audience of 400 people and raised over $2500 for Pathways to Potential. This money was directed towards buying material for STEM Kits and contributing to a prototype of a real-time Braille translation device.
Donation of Toys to Title 1 Schools
In the month of December 2025 , Shireen Arora hosted a Chandler-wide toy drive, gathering over 75 gifts for Title 1 School students. These gifts ranged from STEM focused like Legos to fun cars and much much more! The students really loved each of their gift, especially in the holiday season! We are so excited to do this event again next year!
